FAQ

Where will we go?

Kindly note that the selected route is at the discretion of your guide. Stops will be made at a number of scenic spots to take photos of the incredible scenery as well as wherever we see wildlife. This could mean that we are on highways and other types of paved roads.

Is This Tour Strenuous?

The Wildlife Discovery Tour is a vehicle tour with minimal walking. This activity is family friendly for all ages!

Where can we be picked up?

Pick-ups are available at all Jasper hotels and accomodations. Please note, there are no pick-ups at the Overlander Lodge, Pocohontas Cabins, Jasper Campgrounds, Jasper East or Hinton.

If you are joining our tour from out of town, please select the VIA Rail Train Station as your pickup location as there is free parking in a public lot to the West end of the building. Please meet us at the bus shelter on the East end outside of the building for pick-up.

Will I get pictures of animals?

Photos are usually taken from the inside the vehicle or on the ground at a safe distance from the animals.

Will I see animals on the Wildlife Discovery Tour?

Jasper is the least inhabited of the large national parks, so chances are you will encounter animals. Keep in mind, Jasper National Park is not a zoo but a wild, protected area. The types of animals seen on the tour depends on the season, the time of day, and the weather. Wildlife sightings cannot be guaranteed.

What locations will we pick up from?

We pick up from any accommodation in the Jasper townsite as well as some outlier accommodations. We pick up from the following outlier hotels: Jasper Park Lodge, Pine Bungalows, Tekarra Lodge, Alpine Village, Jasper House Bungalows, Beckers Chalets, Patricia Lake Bungalows, and Pyramid Lake Resort. We encourage guests, if possible, to meet at a central location like the VIA Station (Totem Pole) or the Jasper Adventure Centre. This expedites pickups for scheduled tours.

What locations do we NOT pick up from?

Sunwapta Resort, Wapiti Campground, Wabasso Campground, Whistlers Campground, Athabasca HI Hostel, Maligne Canyon HI Hostel, Miette Mountain Cabins, Overlander Lodge, Jasper East Gate Cabins and any accommodation in Hinton.
