FAQ
SnowS What to bring
Snowshoes are provided. Guests are required to wear warm winter gear. We suggest a winter jacket, snow pants, gloves, winter footwear and warm socks, and a toque or balaclava. In addition, snow goggles are great for sun glare and windier days. The Source for Sports can fit you with a winter jacket and pants. A light backpack is also a good idea to carry your camera, water, and snacks.
SnoS Group size
The guide to guest ratio is 1:12.
SnoS Experience
You do not need experience of snowshoeing for this tour. The guides will show you exactly what to do. You just have to be comfortable walking outside.
SnoS Restrictions
This tour is for ages 6yrs and up. Child carriers are not permitted. Children and Youth must be accompanied by an adult.
Is there a cancellation fee?(Train to Dunster)
Bookings cancelled 48 hours in advance will have a zero percent cancellation policy on the SunDog Tours Sightseeing portion.
As of June 13th, 2022, VIA Rail has implemented a $25.00 per ticket cancellation fee on all tickets. If VIA Rail imposes this fee at the time of cancellation, it will be applied when you request the cancellation.
Can we book dome car seating?(Train to Dunster)
Unfortunately, we are unable to book dome car seating with VIA Rail.
Pick up locations
We pick up from any accommodation in the Jasper townsite as well as some outlier accommodations. We pick up from the following outlier hotels: Jasper Park Lodge, Pine Bungalows, Tekarra Lodge, Alpine Village, Jasper House Bungalows, Beckers Chalets, Patricia Lake Bungalows, and Pyramid Lake Resort. We encourage guests, if possible, to meet at a central location like the VIA Station (Totem Pole) or the Jasper Adventure Centre. This expedites pickups for scheduled tours.
