Embark on a one-way journey along the spine of the Rockies, taking you past sweeping glaciers, immense waterfalls, and shimmering mountain lakes, with your final destination being the stunning Lake Louise or Banff. As you travel the world-famous Icefields Parkway, your knowledgeable interpretive tour guide will share fascinating stories and insights into the region's geographical and historical significance. Along the way, you'll make sightseeing stops at remarkable landmarks like Athabasca Falls, the Weeping Wall, Bow Lake, and the Crowfoot Glacier.
Our guides, who live and play in Banff, Lake Louise, and Jasper, are passionate about sharing their experiences and love of the area. With small, personalized group sizes—capped at a maximum of 26 people per vehicle—you’re guaranteed an intimate, unforgettable tour. The adventure also includes a picnic lunch and an Athabasca Icewalk by Rockaboo.

One sandwich selection per person:
- Ham & Cheddar on Whole Wheat with butter and Dijon mayo.
- Roast Beef with Cheddar Cheese on Whole Wheat.

What if I need to get back to Jasper after the tour?
This is a one way tour, please book a hotel in Lake Louise or Banff as the quickest turn around departs the following day with the Brewster Express on the South Express:

Can Bring my pet?
We do not allow any pets on our service, however, we do allow registered service animals with proper documentation.
Can I bring my bike on the bus?
We are happy to accommodate bikes for a $30 fee.
All bikes must be in a bike box to ensure they arrive safely as we do not have a bike rack on any of the buses.
Lost Items
Sundog Tour Co is not responsible for lost or forgotten items. Please be sure you take ALL your belongings with you. Any items left behind will be held for a maximum of 14 days.
What locations will we pick up from?
We pick up from any accommodation in the Jasper townsite as well as some outlier accommodations. We pick up from the following outlier hotels: Jasper Park Lodge, Pine Bungalows, Tekarra Lodge, Alpine Village, Jasper House Bungalows, Beckers Chalets, Patricia Lake Bungalows, and Pyramid Lake Resort. We encourage guests, if possible, to meet at a central location like the VIA Station (Totem Pole) or the Jasper Adventure Centre. This expedites pickups for scheduled tours.
What locations do we NOT pick up from?
Sunwapta Resort, Wapiti Campground, Wabasso Campground, Whistlers Campground, Athabasca HI Hostel, Maligne Canyon HI Hostel, Miette Mountain Cabins, Overlander Lodge, Jasper East Gate Cabins and any accommodation in Hinton.
What if I’m staying at Pyramid Lake Resort or Patricia Lake Bungalows?
We will conduct our pickups in advance to expedite the process, so please be ready 15 minutes before the posted pickup time. (For example: If your tour pickup time is 08:30, please be ready by 08:15.)

What is the group size on Tread Lightly?
Small groups up to 10 people
What isn't included with Tread Lightly?
Clothing and lunch. We go out rain or shine! Weather on the glacier can range from sunshine to wind and chillyy temperatures. We recommend coming preprared for the forecasted weather to the best of your ability (warm insulating layer and good rain protection, sun glasses ect.). For a complete list of recommended clothing please click here. We have extra rain gear, foot wear and accessories for those that need to borrow something.
What is included with Tread Lightly?
Transportation from meeting point to trail head, ACMG Guide, all technical equipement and an opportunity to contribute to an on-going glacier monitoring project.
What sort of fitness do I need to do Tread Lightly?
We hike between 2 – 8 km depending on conditions and the group. Although the hiking is never strenuous, it does gain about 150m elevation from a starting elevation of 1900m. We recommend that people are fit enough to hike slowly for 4 hours and that you do not have any injuries or medical conditions that could impair your enjoyment. If you would like to hike faster to cover more ground, or would like to modify the duration of the trip due to fitness concerns, we recommend a private booking.
